I started "On Herbs and Herbivores" in 2010, as a place to post vegetarian recipes.
As I mentioned in my first post, I am a vegetarian, while my partner is not a vegetarian but does have celiac - which means I regularly face the challenge of cooking meals that are appropriate for veggies and non-veggies and that are gluten free or can easily be made gluten free.
All of the recipes in H&H are vegetarian.
Some of the recipes are also vegan or can easily be made vegan by substituting or removing a few ingredients. These will be labelled "vegan" or "easily vegan" accordingly.
Many (perhaps even most) of the recipes are gluten free or can easily be made gluten free with a few substitutions. These will be labelled "gluten free" or "easily gluten free", and usually I will list the appropriate substitution except where it is obvious (you know you can use GF pasta for pasta recipes, right?) In addition, I've added another category called "easily gluten free (oats)" which is for recipes that contain oats and can be made using GF oats, but are only appropriate if you are an oat-eater (as some GF people are not).
In addition - many of the recipes here are vegetarian versions of "meaty" recipes. These might be helpful for people who - like me - live in mixed household.
